Sydney was a good trip more or less. Two of made the top-32, other two top-64. Not a bad result for Singapore standards. Especially when you consider we are throwing money at other weapon groups who have yet to secure a single point at ANY senior international. Not that I'm bitter or anything. Messed it up a bit against Keith L from the US in the DE. Am lacking a bit in terms of the rhythm and timing of cat. A events I guess...it should come back tho with a bit of practice. It was nice to catch up with Zhao Gang, who is now coaching the China women's epee team, as well as his charges. He doesn't like to smile too much...unlike... Tan Li and... Zhang Li and... Li Na, who came in third. These girls are also part of the team who won last year's World Championships. They always fun to be around with at competitions. Shame we don't get to go to too many events which are run concurrently. Still, it was nice to catch up with them. Oh and they think Tony Tsang is cute but alas, too short. We didn't do very much else in Sydney, besides our traditional pilgrimage to the Sydney Fish Market. Seeing as how our flight was at 3pm, we decided to hit it early. We discovered Wei Wen can eat almost as many prawns as Chez, and is pretty much as lousy a drinker too. He kept going on and on about "happy times", being in a "happy place" and how Australia was "Happy Land" towards the end. It could only have been funnier if a seagull had shat on him. But overall he was good amusement. I reckon we've found a replacement for Tony Tsang. And then it was back home and to work and to money stories and farewell to the insanity. I will write more about our two interns and the nonsense that they get up to soon.
