We came in 2nd in the team behind the Koreans. Coach reckons I still haven't passed the test he has set for me to prove that my "psychic" is up to scratch. Ah well...I've long realised that you absolutely cannot rush or pressure yourself in that area...that approach just leads to insanity.

Bit of a piss-up Friday night and then recovery on Saturday morning. Bit annoyed that I had to go to Pasir Ris Camp TWICE in one day...the second time to attend a 10-minute long meeting that summarised the results of the mob. Bloody silly. Plus I got bogged down in traffic on the PIE both on the way there and back...I was not pleased and happy to get a double-cheeseburger meal for supper to cheer myself up.

On to Sunday and three words: Should Have Trained.

10km is a long way to go in the water and I was pretty much cooked at the end of three and a half hours. The first 5k I did in 1hr 12 mins. The second half took a whole hour longer than that. I was crawling after the turnaround, the chop was heaving and I could've sworn the current was against us, despite the way the ships were anchored. I spend the first half drifting out to sea as I was just happy to be in the water and wanted to get away from the pack but got shoo-ed back in by the canoeists who were getting a bit antsy about my proximity to the ships.

The last 3k were pure survival mode. My arms were almost falling off and I could barely manage freestyle all the way back in. A full hour behind the Kohs, but at least I can scratch off one of my targets for the year. Could barely speak coherently at the SNOC meeting this morning. And I have a stupid tan-line from the swim cap. Sigh.
