Goin places that I've never been... Well I have been to Taipei a bunch of times, but not to this crappy hotel that I'm apparently booked into. It's supposed to be a hostel for military personnel moving around the country, doesn't have toiletries or breakfast, but at least it's supposed to have individual bathrooms. A bargain at US$60 a night I suppose. Not. So I'm knackered, emotionally shot, and travelling alone again to a competition where the epeeists are shit-hot. What a life. At least I don't have any work hanging over me. I would so like to score a decent result this Friday. That would take the pressure of my year for sure, but I reckon I may have to pull something out in Malaysia next weekend as well. Sigh. Looking too far into the future is always a dangerous thing, and anticipating fun times always distract me from the job at hand. Which is basically to get ready for a bunch of bad-ass, fast, strong, sneaky Taiwanese punks who are out for my head. Maybe a change of environment will actually clear my head and get me ready for what lies ahead. Fingers crossed. |
