2004-10-31 - 10:21 p.m.

There's a lot to be said for the restorative powers of a lovely weekend.

I can't deny that by the end of last week, morale was on its last legs.

I mean, the whole army thing was wearing thin (and as another week looms, it still does).

But enough with the whining.

Finally got in some decent sleep Friday night, only to wake up at 7am on Saturday to rush to camp before realising (doh) that I was being dumb. So back to sleep for a couple more hours before waking up to an extremely productive (by my standards) morning of pottering around the house servicing my fencing equipment and sorting out admin stuff in general.

Managed to squeeze in a nap for an hour before heading over for a truncated training session and then it was off to Raffles for Hubbies4hire. Can't say I was the most impressed but there were some nice moments and touches and I resolved to be nicer to my mom at the end of it, if for nothing else than to avoid behaving like Deb Png's character in the play.

Coincidence that Walt and Christie were at Chijmes with Dutch friend in tow and we joined them post-dinner...the energy levels were dead low in the courtyard after the Halloween nutters buggered off to the next place they were terrorising and I was just kind of spacing in and out of consciousness.

A slightly longish night before a quick nap and then off to training this morning. Now that the Brunei tournament is off, Coach is backing off a tad and we were all smiling when we were done and off to a big Jap lunch (well at least for me).

Quick 10 minute nap, then off to the East for coffee...talking to Ruthless on the way about her GP paper on Wednesday...hope she does well in that cuz she's probably gonna ace everything else.

It was another great afternoon noshing down on ice-creams and root-beer in the East. It seems peaceful there. And I certainly seem to gain more clarity about everything. Maybe it's getting out of the Western auras or something. Hmmm...I should do it more often.

A quiet dinner and movie with mom was nice, especially as we missed it last weekend due to that test, and then it's home for an early night before once more unto the fray tomorrow morning.

This seemed more like a time-table of the stuff I did this weekend but I'm not in the mood for being too reflective tonight.

Suffice it to say that I feel more on an even keel after this weekend. There was lots of other stuff that I wanted to say, but I'll save it for one of those early morning blogs which I hope won't come this week or next.

Till then...
Parting is such sweet sorrow

Yadda yadda.
